With the passage of SB 1626 in 1998, state law requires security guards in K-12 school districts or California community college districts to complete a course of training developed by BSIS. The new training requirement affects only guards employed pursuant to a contract between K-12 school districts or California community college districts and private patrol operators.
Southwestern Vocational College is a non-profit vocational training school licensed by the State of California and provides top of the line expert instruction within this field. Our instructors are certified by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services as well as Peace Officers Standards and Training.
Role and Responsibility of School Security Officer, Laws and Liability, Security Awareness in the Educational Environment. Mediation/Conflict Resolution. Disasters and Emergencies / Active Shooter Dynamics of Student Behavior.
Upon completion of this course the GRADUATE will be qualified to obtain employment with in the public and private school system as a Campus Security Officer, Safety Officer or Campus Security Assistant.

UNIFORMS AND REQUIREMENTS!!!
All students must maintain the required uniform.
1. Black cargo pants
2. Black T shirt
3. Grey polo shirt
4. Black shoes or boots , No TENNIS SHOES
5. Black trouser belt
$15.00 lab fee for the firing range and 50 rounds of ammunition either a 9MM or 40 caliber.
Flashlight , Note book , Pen, Access to a computer and the Internet.
Southwestern vocational college will supply the firearm, magazines, utility belts, handcuffs and other necessary safety training equipment while you are enrolled in the program.
At no time is a student authorized to bring a loaded firearm to class.
